The whole is more than the sum of its parts

When choosing the ideal belt for an application often the first step is to check the product datasheet on our website. You can find the relevant parameters there. However, what you cannot find in any datasheet is how the belt actually feels. People like to touch things – belts are no exception. In order to make their final decision, customers often ask for belt samples to compare with.

They bend the samples, study the belt layers, look at the color, test the thickness between their fingers, touch the belt surface structure, put their own products on the belt and sometimes even check what the belt smells like. None of this can be done online or with a product data sheet. In order to do so customers need belt samples. After all “the whole is more than the sum of its parts” and a belt is more than its key parameters in a datasheet.

Knowing the importance of belt samples, we built up a department for the sample management at Habasit in Poland. The team dedicates its working days to punching, cutting, labelling, sorting, storing and shipping samples to customers and the Habasit sales team all around the globe. Equipped with a CNC cutter, punching machines, lots of energy and good spirits, the ladies from the sample team are a perfect example of good teamwork. They all have different personalities and complement each other in their diversity in knowledge, views and perspectives. In this team we once again find proof that “the whole is more than the sum of its parts”.
